People, culture and landscape are always of great interest in literature
as they stick to memory and promote varied thought and imagination .Australia
and India, now far apart and once geologically united in the continent of Asia,
have more in common than is usually imagined. Both are countries of fantastic
contrasts; with deserts, tropical rain forests and snow-capped ranges co-existing.
Primeval, brooding lands-the last of the world’s lost species roam here, and the
medley of exotic flora and fauna is mind-boggling. Both are so unusual, that
nowhere else on the globe can one find a close analogy.
